Why have your store’s fire safety system inspected?
It’s a fact: fire alarms save lives. Additionally, sprinklers limit the spread of smoke and flames, reducing material¬ and financial loss. For your fire safety equipment to do its job properly, it must be functional and ready to go off at all times. A professional inspection is the only was to be sure that this is the case.
Furthermore, many insurance companies require proof that the system has been periodically inspected before accepting a claim.
What does an inspection of fire protection equipment consist of?
At Guard-X, we offer inspection services for all types of fire protection products including:
• Fire alarms
• Sprinkler systems
• Fire extinguishers
• Emergency signs and lighting
• Gas detectors
During an inspection of your fire protection products—done according to the Régie du Bâtiment Québec’s building safety codes (available in French only)—we verify: elements of the system such as fire alarm panels, manual triggers and heat detectors; fire extinguisher placement and functionality (that they’re full of the necessary chemicals), and the visibility of their instructions; and the various elements of the sprinkler system and the alarms connected to it. After your store’s fire safety system has been inspected, our technicians will provide you with a detailed report.
Please note that a yearly inspection is recommended for fire extinguishers and sprinkler systems. Fire alarms themselves must also be tested at regular intervals.
